Colloid Mills
Colloid Mills are used for the processing of various different products with a wide range of viscosities. They are primarily used for the wet milling of products and can be used to reduce the particle size of a solid suspended in a liquid or to reduce the droplet size of a liquid suspended in another liquid. Colloid Mills consists of two parts the stator and the rotor. Product is sheared in the annular space between the rotor and the stator which are both cylindrical. Product is fed through the rotor shaft to the centre of the rotor, flung out centrifugally between the two half's of the rotor, and collected from the periphery of the stator. Colloid mills are often used in the cosmetics, chemicals, food and pharmaceuticals industries. Manufacturers of colloid mills include Frymakoruma, Premier and Netzsch.
